I came extremely close to postponing this week’s blog post due to all of the kid activities and preparing for the upcoming forgiveness series. Then something hit me…
What are we investing so much time and energy in on a daily basis that truly does not bear fruit in our lives?
Let me provide an example, which I feel is one that will resonate with many.
For so long, as have many, I have followed Candace Owens. While I do not always agree, I have a great deal of respect for her pursuit of truth, investigative skills, and her love of Jesus Christ.
However, lately, I have found myself just waiting to hear what she is going to say in the next episode, whether I agree with her on all matters or not.
And listen. I had to take a break earlier in the year and stop listening, but then started back… and here I am.
On a recent podcast, she started talking about something that I knew to be 100% inaccurate, so I cut it off. Then the Holy Spirit gave me a good ole slice of conviction.
Why have I been itching to listen to something that is not bearing one ounce of fruit in my life? I could have had this forgiveness study prepared ten times over already.
And that is exactly what the devil wants to do… he wants to distract us.
He wants our focus elsewhere.
So today (well, Friday actually), I am making some adjustments and making sure the things that I am investing time in actually bear fruit in my life and in others.
What have you been investing in that truly bears no fruit?
And what would life look like if you let it go?
Food for thought, friends.
I am closing in a shorter time frame today, as I have breakfast to cook for the kids, an upcoming forgiveness study to prepare, church to attend, and my family to spend time with today.
All the best, friends.

If you have found yourself teetering back and forth with the truth, The Bible is an excellent places to begin. I love the New King’s James Version. Also a good study Bible with journaling options. Links below!
