The “good old days” feel like they’re long gone.
Groceries. Gas. Housing.
Inflation is hitting everyone. Add kids into the mix, and suddenly survival feels like the only goal.
Trust me — I know. With five kids, my husband and I both juggle multiple jobs, and still… sometimes it feels like we’re just treading water.
If you’re in the same boat, what do you do?
You get creative.
The hard part about creativity — especially the path I’ve chosen — is that it takes time. Writing feeds my soul. It allows me to encourage others. But passive income doesn’t happen overnight. It’s planted seeds and patient waiting.
If creativity isn’t your thing, look at your skillset. What could you offer on the side? Just be mindful that it doesn’t conflict with your primary job. Service-based work pays quicker than passive income, but marketing and client acquisition require effort upfront.
And if neither of those options are available? Trim.
Trim subscriptions.
Trim grocery costs.
Shop insurance.
Evaluate everything.
That’s the phase I’m currently in — balancing creativity, consulting, and cutting where we can while things build.
In the meantime, protect your mental health. Walk instead of gym memberships. Get fresh air. Stay grounded.
I’m sharing this because life is real. And right now, a lot of people are quietly carrying the same weight.
You’re not alone.
We’ve got this.
